Exploring the Enchanting Village Life around Mount Fuji, Japan
Have you ever wakened up with a stunning outlook that made you think it is a scene out of a cartoon? Picture seeing the incredible Mount Fuji just at the other side of your window! I was in a small Japanese village for my last trip that was pure and simple a natural beauty with a rich and interesting culture. Stay with me to revisit my day discovering Japan’s breathtaking landscapes, walking through ancestral and traditional houses, and the lively village.
The Journey Begins: From Tokyo to a Charming Village
The last time I made a video I talked about the amazing trip from the city of Tokyo to this place. The moment I came to the traditional Japanese house which is a wooden building that reminds me of the scene from my childhood cartoon “Doraemon” I was so ready to be there. The cleanliness was at a very high standard; you could not find a single garbage bag on the spotless paths which made the place very still and that was a little hard to leave.
Exploring the Village: A Day Filled with Adventures
Thinking of spending the day wandering around the village was the beginning of my excitement. I was dressed for a perfect day, a jacket for 8 degrees Celsius sun shining down on me as I set out to stroll through the village’s narrow streets, colorful markets, and secret temples.
Coffee Break and Cultural Insights
I had my first stop at a little coffee shop named ‘Fuchu Street’ where I enjoyed a delicious matcha latte. In that perfect surrounding, I reveled in the commonness of the experience. The people were very friendly and the place was full of smiles and the sound of friendly talking.
After the refreshment, I felt a strong urge to find out more. I saw the farms, the beautiful Mount Fuji, and the sweet, potato and the fruit shops with the local people’s friends, looking faces selling the goods of the area that was so full of the community spirit.
The Alluring Mount Fuji: A Natural Wonder
On reaching the top of the village I was so thrilled that my heart almost stopped beating, I knew what the view I was about to see was like would be the best of all of Mount Fuji. This famous volcano at 3, 776 meters is not only the highest peak of Japan but also a significant part of the country’s cultural history and nature reserve.
Mount Fuji is a perfection that even though people may not find the right words for it, its symmetrical view of the sky makes it a very popular subject for painters and photographers. There I was, staring at the beautiful mountain, feeling the unity with the land and its inhabitants.
The Spiritual Side: Discovering Local Temples
While on my path, I came across a lovely temple that was decorated with complicated patterns that showed the local beliefs, spiritually most of the time, the people in the area were Shintoists and Buddhists. People who live there come to this peaceful place to meditate and think as I was walking through the temple area, I could feel the same.
Moreover, the village was not only for the splendid mountain view but also the hiking place for the spiritual and historical pursuits. I found a statue symbolising the famous “Three Monkeys” of Gandhi, which is native to this temple and is part of an extraordinary cultural exchange that goes beyond the borders of the earth, really a small world in every sense.
Local Cuisine: A Taste of Japan
As the day was about to end, the dinner bell rang in my stomach. I found a South Indian restaurant close by a bit surprising but very nice. The flavors were nice, and the owner’s warm reception made me feel as if I belonged to the place. I left the restaurant with both my appetite satisfied and my heart warmed, an experience that highlighted the hospitality that is an integral part of this village life.
